Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data BIJHSS collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the journal, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, username, affiliation, country and, optionally, phone, ORCID iD, biography, photo and reviewing interests.
- Submission data: manuscripts and files you upload, information about co-authors, funders and comments for the editors.
- Messages: the name, email address and message you send through the Contact form.
- Technical data: a session cookie needed to keep you logged in and to protect forms, and basic server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) used for security.
How we use it
- To manage your account and your submissions, and to run the peer-review process.
- To publish the names, affiliations and, if provided, ORCID iDs of the authors of published articles.
- To reply to your messages.
- To send you notifications about new issues and announcements, only if you have agreed to receive them.
- To keep the website secure and working correctly.
Your data is used only for the purposes of the journal. It is shared with editors and reviewers only as far as needed for the editorial process (reviewers never see authors' identities during double-blind review), and is never sold or given to third parties for marketing.
Cookies
The website uses only essential cookies: a session cookie and a security token for forms. If you choose "Keep me logged in", a cookie remembers your login. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is active. Data about published articles (names, affiliations) is part of the permanent scholarly record and remains published. Unpublished submissions and contact messages are deleted when they are no longer needed for the journal's work.
Your rights
You can see and correct most of your data at any time in your profile, and change which emails you receive under Notifications. You may also ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data by writing through the Contact page.
We may update this policy. The current version is always available on this page.
