Refund and Cancellation
This policy explains when payments made to BIJHSS can be refunded and how a submission can be cancelled. Reading and downloading our articles is always free, and there is no charge for submitting a manuscript or for peer review.
Withdrawing a submission
- Before acceptance: authors may withdraw a manuscript at any time, free of charge, by writing to the editors through the Contact page. Incomplete submissions can be deleted directly from the dashboard.
- After acceptance: withdrawal is still possible before publication, but any fee already paid is not refunded, because the editorial work has been completed.
- After publication: a published article cannot be withdrawn at the authors' request. It can only be corrected or retracted for the reasons described in our Ethics Statement.
When a refund is given
- Duplicate payment: if the same fee was paid more than once for the same manuscript, the extra amount is refunded in full.
- Overpayment: any amount paid above the fee communicated to the authors is refunded.
- Not published by the journal: if, after payment, the journal decides not to publish the accepted article for reasons that are not the authors' responsibility, the fee is refunded in full.
When no refund is given
- When the authors withdraw the article after acceptance and payment.
- When the article is published.
- When the article is rejected or retracted because of plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication or other misconduct.
How to request a refund
Write to us through the Contact page, choosing the subject Submissions, and include the manuscript number, the payment date and a proof of payment. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method within 7 to 10 working days.
