Publication Process
From submission to publication, every manuscript follows the same clear path. Here is what happens after you click Submit.
From submission to publication
- Submit your manuscript online through Make a Submission, after reading the Submission Guidelines. You can follow its status on your dashboard.
- Peer review. The manuscript goes through editorial screening and double-blind peer review, as explained in our Review Process.
- Decision. You receive the editorial decision together with the reviewers' comments.
- Final version. After acceptance, you send the final corrected version, including acknowledgements and any information removed for blind review.
- Copyediting and layout. The editorial team prepares the article for publication. You receive the proofs to check; only small corrections are possible at this stage.
- Publication. The article is published online in open access in the next available issue (June or December), with its own page, PDF and DOI.
- After publication. The article page shows how to cite your work. Share the link with your colleagues and add it to your academic profiles (ORCID, Google Scholar…).
Fees
Reading and downloading articles is always free. There is no fee for submitting a manuscript or for peer review. If an article processing charge applies, its amount is communicated to the authors only after acceptance, and the article is published once it is paid. See our Refund and Cancellation policy.
